I Parigi B&B Florence is a historical 14th century architectural residence (it actually looks like a little castle) sitting on the top of a hill in the typically hilly landscape of the Chianti region of Tuscany.
A long windy road enclosed with trees will take you to the striking gates & quaint stone path that leads into the B&B’s very pretty courtyard & reception area where friendly staff await.
We booked the B&B’s last room that morning on the train to Florence so didn’t get the best they had to offer (no view out), but it was still lovely, very rustic – it literally felt like we had gone back in time when we stepped into the room, which had an ensuite & courtyard.
The B&B had a lunch & dinner menu which was made locally & delivered daily (so you had to pre-order what you wanted), it was served on silver platters to enjoy sitting poolside or at one of the many outdoor settings scattered around the property & we couldn’t stop ourselves from trying everything on the menu – pasta, salads & pizza – all delicious, and accompanied by even more delicious local wines.
Breakfast was served under a pretty loggia with stunning views across the valley, surrounded by olive groves & fruit trees. The pool is set on the other side of the hill looking out toward Florence, smack bang in the middle of an olive grove & surrounded by herbs such as lavender & rosemary which let off an amazing aroma whilst baking under the Tuscan sun! – It smelt like heaven!
Although I Parigi B&B was fully booked we rarely saw the other guests and had the pool to ourselves a lot of the time, which we sat around all day every day listening to the sounds of church bells ring through the valley, reading books & indulging! – (I didn’t have the best choice of book title for honeymooning – Paulo Coelho’s, Adultery!!) On our last night there we had a front row seat to a thunderstorm that swept through the valley – which we watched whilst swimming in the pool all alone & I think we both consider that to be our favourite moment of our honeymoon.
The next morning it was still pouring down whilst we ate breakfast, but it was a welcome break from the heatwave we had been gripped in & it brought with it a crisp sweetness to the air, covering all the pretty flowers & fruit in big droplets which somehow made the countryside even more beautiful. We loved our stay at I Parigi B&B Florence & would defiantly go back again! I hope you enjoy our photos.
