We had a beautiful start to the year with a trip down south this past weekend. We had two children’s 2nd birthdays to attend (cousins born a day apart – so amazing!). The first we attended in Bunbury was a horse themed extravaganza which included the most fabulous cake, pony rides, a hot-dog stand, horse shaped everything & hay bales to sit on! The next day we had a beautiful laid back bbq on the Mandurah foreshore which was a lovely excuse to sit back & relax in a peaceful spot whilst indulging in a fabulous picnic spread (& nurse our hangovers).
I haven’t been to Mandurah in a while & found the place to have changed so much from what I remember. It was alive with people of all ages enjoying the local attractions such as water slides, boating, paddle boarding & jet pack water flying!!! As we drove over the estuary & down onto the foreshore I mentioned that this must be where all the people from Perth have gotten to as the place was packed – I’m really looking forward to planning another trip down to Mandurah this summer & get amongst some of the fun.
On the way home we stopped in at Silver Sands beach to cool off which was the perfect finish to a great trip away. We ended the day back in the city doing some work at my brothers office & witnessed the most amazing sunset which was a lovely close to the weekend.
We are back at work this week after a lovely little break & excited to get back into the swing of things. I hope you are having a wonderful 2016 too.
