Right on the boarder of Scotland and England sits my dad’s pub The Blackcock Inn, a 17th century Inn, where we stayed for a few days on our honeymoon. Whilst there we did some exploring of the area, and (with the pub and restaurant at our disposal) – a lot of eating and drinking as you can imagine!! (I have to admit to overindulging in his Gin bar). Dad gave us the ‘honeymoon suite’ which was a little two story cottage next door to the main B&B, all to ourselves, with the occasional drop by of the pub’s resident cat Shadow.
The most memorable part of this stop on our trip was driving his antique cars – Dad was excited to get his toys out for Brett to have a play with, (his purple Marlin & yellow MG) so we did some Sunday driving, navigating the windy roads & getting wet splashing through puddles in the open top! I’ve put a few videos up on youtube if you want to have a zoom around with us!
It was a glorious day for it. The birds were singing and the bumble bees were buzzing, with the sweet warm breeze in our hair and the sun shining down on us, it was perfect motoring along the lakes and through the purple heather covered English countryside.
Then back to the pub for a ‘spot of lunch’ in the garden. x
